Michael J. Kinney joins the senior administrative team of Sacred Heart University as Senior Vice President for Finance and Administration. This new position is part of a senior management re-organization that was approved by the Board of Trustees. Mr. Kinney will work closely with the University President and other members of the Cabinet on the internal management of the University.

Since 1995, Mr. Kinney served as a Trustee for Sacred Heart University, his alma mater. He has more than two decades of distinguished experience in the business community and is deeply committed to Sacred Heart University and its mission.

Mr. Kinney is a very successful senior executive with broad experience in the general management and financial sectors in both services and industry. He was the Chief Financial Officer and Senior Vice President of Finance and Strategic Planning for Kraft Foods International. Mr. Kinney also served as President of Philip Morris Capital Corporation, and held various positions at Bankers Trust, Continental Illinois and General Electric Capital Corporation.
He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from Sacred Heart University in 1972 and his Master of Business Administration degree in Finance from the University of Bridgeport. He and his wife Cynthia live in Fairfield; they are the parents of a daughter and twin sons.
