Message to the University Community: August 29, 2007:
In order to fully complete construction, during the first week of classes (September 4-8), classes originally scheduled at Cambridge will be held at the Park Avenue campus. Visit www.sacredheart.edu/specialschedule.cfm for the schedule of rooms for the first week only. On September 6, an updated schedule will be disseminated and posted on this site informing faculty and students of their room assignments for the week of September 10.
To the Sacred Heart University Community:
We look forward to the start of a new academic year and we hope that you will be pleased to see many of the improvements made to the Pitt Center, Academic Building, Residence Halls and grounds, as well as the progress of the new Chapel.
Also, we eagerly anticipate the opening of our new 52,000-square-foot facility located at 7 Cambridge Drive in Trumbull for the College of Education & Health Professions (CEHP). Less than three miles from the University’s Fairfield campus, the Cambridge campus will feature enlarged classroom and lab spaces, dozens of faculty offices, library resources, an IT Help Desk, food service, and welcoming public areas. It will accommodate programs in Teacher Certification, Educational Leadership, Nursing, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Athletic Training and Exercise Science among others.
By the start of classes, the majority of the CEHP faculty will have relocated to the Cambridge campus, and some classes will be held there. New shuttles with frequent service will be ready for the start of school. However, in order for us to complete the remaining work for full occupancy; some CEHP classes may have to be held on the main campus or another location.
We are working with the Faculty and the Registrar’s Office to make sure there is as little disruption as possible. During this process, we ask for everyone’s cooperation as we make a full transition to the new Cambridge campus over the coming weeks.
