CONSTITUTION DAY TO FEATURE 1ST AMENDMENT ADDRESS BY STATE SUPREME COURT JUSTICE
Sacred Heart University will host Connecticut Supreme Court Justice Barry R. Schaller for its Constitution Day celebration on Wednesday, September 17th.  Justice Schaller will discuss “The First Amendment in the Digital Age: Protecting Free Speech and Other Values.” The 2 P.M. lecture in the Edgerton Center for the Performing Arts is free and open to the public.

An alumnus of Yale College, Justice Schaller earned his Juris Doctor degree from the Yale Law School in 1963. Following 18 years as a trial judge, he was named to the Appellate Court in 1992 and to the state’s Supreme Court in August 2007.

Constitution Day marks the anniversary of the signing of the United States Constitution on September 17, 1787, by 39 patriots. It marks the birthday of America’s form of government and is observed at schools and colleges across the country.
