Sacred Heart University’s Marching Band will lend the talents of its winds, brass, percussion and guard to the Walk to Cure Diabetes on Sunday morning, September 28th. The annual event will take place at Cranbury Park in Norwalk and will benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, which is sponsoring the event at locations throughout the state. The band will begin playing at 9am and the walk starts at 10am.
The Band’s director, Keith Johnston, said this is one more way for the University to connect with the local community and participate in an important cause that impacts so many families in our area. The Band is a familiar sight at area parades and has played at such locations as Bridgeport and St. Vincent’s hospitals. As many as 45 performers are expected to participate.
