Exodus 32:7-14, John 5:31-47
Today’s Scriptures challenge me to ask, “In who or what do I
believe?” “God” is often seen as the simplest of answers, but I think one of our most common mistakes is believing that this
response is ever simple. God speaks to us in a multiplicity of ways, and is absolute mystery. In the Incarnation we celebrate God-with-us, and yet we also know that God is transcendent.
Understanding who God is for us is a lifetime journey of faith on which, thankfully, we are accompanied by other pilgrims.
