MARCH 15, 2012

Jeremiah 7:23-28, Luke 11:14-23
The Ignatian Examen is a useful tool for prayerfully reflecting on where God was present in our day. A quick guide is below:

1. Become aware of God’s presence.
2. Review the day with gratitude.
3. Pay attention to your emotions.
4. Choose one feature of the day and pray from it.
5. Look toward tomorrow.
Spend time today at lunch or as the day draws to a close using this simple technique. What do you have to be thankful for? How did you feel throughout the day (joy? compassion?
anger? resentment?)? Pray with one of these feelings (is God trying to tell you something?). Having reviewed this day,
begin to prepare yourself for the next. How can you live your day in a spirit of prayer and hope for a better tomorrow?
