Joel 2:1-12-18, 2 Corinthians 5:20-6:2, Matthew 6:1-6, 16-18
We are all quite familiar with our homes. So much so that often we can enter our darkened home and move about for a while. However gingerly we move, we can because we are familiar with the surroundings. Yet even in our home we search for the light to guide us in our movements.
Our lives are very similar to those experiences. We are
familiar with our surroundings. Yet the light makes our movements, decisions, choices much easier. So often we wonder what the next year or even day would bring for us. It is unknown and dark to our sight. Yet the real joy in living is to enjoy what we cannot see and accept it as another part of our journey.
Christ is our light. The dark and shadows of life enable us to appreciate the bounty of Christ’s light in our lives. Worry not about the unknown or the dark. Let the light of Christ— whether in joy or sorrow—fill us with the warmth of his presence.
