Sacred Heart University will host Robert Ellsberg, the publisher and editor-in-chief of Maryknoll’s Orbis Books, on Thursday, March 19th. His 7 P.M. lecture in University Commons will concern Dorothy Day, the controversial Catholic activist and a leader of the pacifist movement in the United States. One of Sacred Heart University’s residence halls is named in her honor The address, which is free and open to the public, is co-sponsored by the Ryan-Matura Library, the College of Arts and Sciences, the Department of Religious Studies, and the University’s Center for Catholic Thought, Ethics and Culture.
Ellsberg has just completed editing the diaries of Catholic Worker founder Dorothy Day and is working on a collection of her letters. He became a Catholic in 1980 through her influence while living at the Catholic Worker House in Lower Manhattan. He is the author of three books on the lives of the saints
