OPERATION BRIDGEPORT
In the fall of 1995, a group of faculty, administrators and staff members participated in the first Operation Bridgeport, an immersion experience in the vibrant life of the local Bridgeport community.

Operation Bridgeport began as a result of an earlier trip that faculty, staff, and administrators made to El Salvador (now an annual tradition of the University) to help build and repair communities of the poor. The participants determined it a priority to become more involved in the Bridgeport community.

Through Operation Bridgeport, members of the University are introduced to the people and the complex issues of urban life.  As an outgrowth of Operation Bridgeport, the University developed Community Connections and CURTIS Week.
