Julie Alexander is in her
11th season as the head of Sacred Heart’s Athletic Training staff and the
14th in the program overall. Previously, she served the roles of Assistant and Associate Athletic Trainer. Alexander and her staff of six full time athletic trainers, four graduate assistant
/intern and one part-time athletic trainer are responsible for the care of the University’s
850 student-athletes.
Her primary clinical responsibilities include coverage of men’s ice hockey as well as men’s and women’s tennis. She is an Approved Clinical Instructor for the University’s undergraduate athletic training program and also serves as an adjunct professor.
Alexander, a native of Storrs, CT, earned her undergraduate degree in Psychology from Eastern Connecticut State University in 1990 and her Masters of Science in Education/Athletic Training from Old Dominion University in 1993. Prior to her arrival at Sacred Heart she served as an Assistant Athletic Trainer at St. Bonaventure for two years. She and her husband, Kyle, live in Prospect, CT and have a son, Blake (5).
