Green fever has hit the Student Financial Assistance Office!  We are on our way to becoming a truly paperless Office.  In 2007-2008 we introduced SHUawards which allows you to view and manage your financial assistance information any place and any time.

You can access the following online:

• Check the status of your application
• View a list of documents we've received, a list of documents still outstanding, and the documents that you can link to for completion
• View and accept your financial aid awards
• Check the status of your student loans for the current year
• View your student loan history

In 2008-09 we converted our Confidential Information Forms to online applications through SHUawards.  We have also migrated to an imaging system which allows us to scan all documents received and convert online documents, paper documents, or faxes directly to the imaging system.  All these improvements have reduced the amount of paper from our office while simultaneously improving accuracy, security and reducing processing time.   

Moving forward we anticipate moving more of our paper forms online and utilizing more email communications.  If you have any suggestions on how we can continue or enhance our going green projects, please let us know.
