EDGERTON CENTER FOR THE PERFORMING ARTS
Our Center for the Performing Arts - otherwise known as the Edgerton Center for the Performing Arts - is a valuable resource, not just to our students, but to the community as well. The Edgerton Center for the Performing Arts is located in the front center portion of the main Academic Center facing the Park Avenue entrance. Since its opening in 1986, the University has generously shared this outstanding resource with the surrounding community, making professional-quality theatrical, musical and dance performances both affordable and accessible. James Earl Jones, Julie Harris, Dizzie Gillespie, James Mason and Mary Black are just some of the people to perform at the Theater over the years. The Edgerton Center for the Performing Arts is more than a resource for performing artists - It was used for forums featuring Rubin “Hurricane” Carter, Sister Helen Prejean, former Presidential candidate Elizabeth Dole, famed retired CEO of GE and best-selling author Jack Welch and Reverend Al Sharpton. |
