WILLIAM H. PITT HEALTH AND RECREATION CENTER

William H. Pitt Health and Recreation Center is a state-of-the-art, three-story, 141,000 square-foot complex that features a sports arena with center court, main hall and seating for over 2,000 people. The sports arena accommodates four basketball and indoor tennis courts, an indoor jogging track and a wrestling arena. The Pitt Center's lower level boasts both an aerobics room and a 5,000-plus square-foot weight training facility, which includes both cardiovascular equipment and free weights. Locker rooms for our athletic teams and our members are also located on the lower level, along with a suite of athletic department offices.

The Pitt Center also houses a 4,500 square-foot health clinic dedicated to the Sacred Heart University Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation Center. The center compliments the University's programs in physical therapy, occupational therapy and sports medicine/athletic training. Classes for these programs are conducted in the facility.  The upper level of the Pitt Center contains the Department of Athletics suite of offices and the Board Room, which serves as a meeting room for the University's Board of Trustees and for other on-campus groups.  The Pitt Center has hosted numerous events, including the 1998 U.S. Open Professional Bowling Championships and summer basketball camps led by such NBA stars as Vin Baker, Allan Houston, Charles Smith and Charlie Ward.
