• American Philosophical Association (APA) – The main professional organization for philosophers in the United States. It incorporates three regional divisions.
• Association for Practical and Applied Ethics (APPE) – An umbrella organization whose members university-based ethics centers, including Sacred Heart's Hersher Institute. Hosts an annual meeting and maintains a distribution email list of conferences, calls for papers, and job opportunities. Both individuals and institutions may join.
• Poynter Center for the Study of Ethics and American Institutions at Indiana University – One of the first ethics institutes, it helped found the APPE. One of its program is the Ethics Bowl competition for college teams.
