ELISSA LONGO, OTD, OTR/L
Elissa Longo, OTD OTR/L, Assistant Professor 
Elissa Longo, OTD, OTR/L is the coordinator for the pediatric and adolescent module coursework and also teaches Pediatric and Adolescent seminars and laboratories, Anatomy and Kinesiology laboratory and Neuroscience. She also is a faculty mentor for student Capstone projects. Elissa lives locally with her two sons. She enjoys dancing, music, camping, hiking, canoeing, reading, and of course playing.
Elissa received her Bachelor of Science in Human Physiology and Nutrition from Cornell University and a Bachelor of Science in Health Science and Master of Science in Occupational Therapy from Mercy College. She received her Doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy from Creighton University December 2007. She has worked in birth to three, the school system, home care and private practice and also has been involved in the creation and implementation of several community based sports and camps programs for children with disabilities in southern Fairfield County. Elissa has presented and published in the areas of play and sensory processing, play preference, child development and non-linear dynamic systems theory and assistive technology and play. Her research interests include play preference, play and sensory processing, application of non-linear dynamic systems theory to child development, and parent child interactions. Elissa has served as the alternate representative and the representative to the AOTA representative assembly for Connecticut and Vice President and board member (member at large) for the Connecticut Occupational Therapy Association. In the past she also served as the pediatric special interest section liaison for the Connecticut Occupational Therapy Association.
