Using a combination of AJAX and PHP we will construct a social-networking site revolving around Flash games. To credit the website’s origin we decided to name our project, SHUGamer. Our infrastructure will be multiple LAMP servers on a VMware backend, designed to be scalable from 6,000 Sacred Heart students to 6,000,000 college students. SHUGamer’s development will be broken into three phases. First, backend development and basic functional framework will be completed for use of the website. This will include playing Flash games, comparing high-scores of your own and other players, and management of user accounts. The second phase will bring enhancements to the website including collect / display / and view their and other users’ rewards, expanded high-score tables, and the ability to ‘friend’ other SHUGamer members. Finally the last phase will encompass our stretch goals. These goals cover user communication over an online messenger / threaded forums and a ticketing system that will allow members to suggest enhancements or wants, or report errors.
