Athletic Training Faculty Position
Applications are invited for a full-time, 9-month, clinical track faculty position to begin in August, 2008 in our Athletic Training Program. The position includes teaching and scholarship responsibilities, University service, and practice responsibilities.
The ideal candidate will have:
an earned doctorate relevant to athletic training or exercise science (athletic training, kinesiology/biomechanics, human physiology, pathophysiology, etc.), teaching experience in athletic training and clinical practice experience at the college level. The candidate should be comfortable in a highly interactive teaching/learning environment that includes collaborative teaching, significant faculty/student interaction, interdisciplinary scholarship and strong clinical integration. Responsibilities will include teaching athletic training course work with emphasis on the clinical sciences, undergraduate student advisement, relevant scholarship, University service, coordinating on-campus clinical education and providing clinical service in the athletic training facility. Certification as an athletic trainer is required. While doctoral preparation is preferred, master’s prepared candidates or those with a related background will be considered.
The Department of Physical Therapy and Human Movement Sciences houses the undergraduate programs in Athletic Training (BS) and Exercise Science (BS) and the DPT Program in Physical Therapy, as well as a post-professional, online program in Geriatric Health and Wellness (certificate). The Department supports a comprehensive motion analysis laboratory and operates a variety of clinical services in athletic training, exercise science and physical therapy.
