ADJUNCT PROFESSOR FINALIST IN FICTION WRITING COMPETITION
Joseph Conlin, an adjunct professor of English at Sacred Heart University,  was a finalist in the Santa Fe Writers Project Fiction Competition, judged by Pulitzer Prize winning novelist and National Book Award finalist Robert Olen Butler. “Approaching the Shoals,” a short story based on the closing scenes of Conlin's novel, “Orlando Tales,” was the entry recognized in the competition.  Conlin's fiction has appeared in the Fairfield Review, the SNReview, the Sulphur River Review, the Maryland Review, the Algonquin Roundtable Review, the small spiral notebook, and the Hob-Nob Review. For the past ten years, he has edited and published the literary quarterly SNReview, an online journal that is now available in print format. Viewership for the publication has doubled annually for the past three years. He is also editor of an annual online publication for undergraduate business writers called The Park Avenue Business Review.
