About the SHU Certificate in Educational Technology:
An Educational Technology certificate is available to graduate students who complete any four advanced-level SHU Educational Technology Courses (total of 12 credits). ED 578 Introduction to Computers in Education does not count towards the Educational Technology Certificate since it is a Foundations-level course.
Application Process:
1. Complete an Educational Technology Program Plan of Study. This program is open to all certified educators and graduate students who have been accepted into the SHU Education Program. Contact Dr.Toni Bruciati (bruciatia@sacredheart.edu), Coordinator for Educational Technology or Dr. María Lizano-DiMare (lizanom@sacredheart.edu).
2. Complete 4 advanced-level courses in SHU’s Educational Technology Program.
3. To receive your Certificate, submit the following 3 documents to Dr. Toni Bruciati -
- Print an unofficial transcript from WebAdvisor showing the 4 Ed Tech Courses and the grades received. Do not include ED 578.
Note – Grades must be higher than a B-. - A completed Certificate Program Application Form – “green form” obtained from the Registrar’s Office or here http://www.sacredheart.edu/pages/706_forms_and_requests.cfm .
- A signed / completed copy of the Ed Tech Plan of Study.

4. Dr. Bruciati will send a confirmation email to let you know that she has received your application. Individuals typically receive their certificates within 8 weeks. Individuals are instructed to contact Dr. Bruciati if they do not receive their certificates within 8 weeks of receiving their confirmation email.
