SACRED MUSIC 'CAPPELLA CLAUSURA' CONCERT
Sacred Heart University’s Center for Catholic Thought, Ethics, and Culture (CCTEC) and Academic Music Program will present Cappella Clausura, in concert on Tuesday, April 1, at 7:30 p.m. in the Edgerton Center for the Performing Arts.

Cappella Clausura is a women’s ensemble of 14 singers and three instrumentalists, which specializes in music written through the centuries by women in “clausurae,” or cloisters. The women’s ensemble represents music, which dates from the early Middle Ages to the Baroque period of the 18th century.

Past concerts have featured music from the convents and salons of Baroque Italy and France and a chant from the eleventh century by Hildegard von Bingen. The ensemble’s goal is to integrate their music into the standard repertoire of classical music, while raising money for organizations that help women.

This event is free of charge and open to the public. For tickets, call the Edgerton Center Box office at 371-7908 or visit the Edgerton Center Box Office.
