I would like to extend a warm welcome to you on behalf of the Council of Clubs and Organizations. The next four years will be a new and exciting adventure for you to embark on. I hope that you are looking forward to new experiences and opportunities that will be available to you.
These pages will provide you with information about all the different Clubs and Organizations that SHU has to offer in helping you Swing Into Success. All of the organizations listed on the following pages have unique qualities that will appeal to a variety of tastes, giving everyone of you the chance to have a unique and exciting experience.
I encourage you to explore all of your different options and really take the time to get involved and find your niche. Remember, the types of experiences you have are up to you, and the school is what you make of it...So make it incredible!

A Week in the life of a college student
Each Student has 7 days a week, 24 hours a day……… 168 hrs
Allocate 15 hours a week for class plus 2 hours
of study for each hour of class…………………………. 45 hrs
A good night's sleep (7 hours spent per night) …………49 hrs
Two hours a day for personal needs
(eating, doing laundry, showering,
answering mail, banking, etc.)………………………... 14 hrs
A good exercise program………………………….……..7 hrs
A good social life: 3 events a week, 4 hours an event
(movies, going to a game, concerts, etc)…………12 hrs
For SHU students who choose to work part-time,
the most they will work is 20 hours a week……………20 hrs
Grand Total……………………………………………..147 hrs
That leaves 21 hours a week to serve on a committee, run for student government, become active in hall council, or participate in any of the other activities that make up campus life.
