INTERFAITH EVENT TO EXPLORE THE BEAUTY AND MEANING OF DEATH AND DYING

On Wednesday, March 5, a special event will bring together Christians, Jews and Muslims to share the beauty and meaning of the different ways each tradition deals with death and dying. Three brief presentations will be followed by facilitated dialogue in mixed-faith groups to share experiences and learn from and about each other.

Interfaith Reflections on the Meaning of Life in Ritual and Reason: PART 3: Death and Dying, is sponsored by the American Institute for Islamic & Arabic Studies, Bridge Building Ministry, The Council of Churches of Greater Bridgeport, The Jewish Center for Community Services, and Sacred Heart University.

Presenters include Rabbi Zvi Engel, Congregation Ahavath Achim, Fairfield; Father Mark Villano, C.S.P., Sacred Heart University, Fairfield; and Dr. Kareem Adeeb, American Institute for Islamic & Arabic Studies.

The event will take place in University Commons. Registration and refreshments begin at 6:30 p.m. followed by program presentations from 7 – 9 p.m. The event is open to the public and the cost to participate is by donation only. Light refreshments will be served.
