WARRANTY AND INSURANCE COVERAGE
The University currently has two Dell models in use by the students. Each laptop is warranted for three years and is covered by Dell's Complete Care package. Students are required to bring malfunctioning laptops to the Factory to have laptops examined. For warranty issues, hard drives are swapped into a second unit and reissued to students. If there is physical damage not covered by warranty, the same process takes place and the students will have a $100.00 insurance deductible assessed to his or her account.

For lost or stolen laptops, students must report the event to Public Safety and then see Jennifer Momplaisir in the Information Technology Department in SC 07A. Students must fill out paperwork to be issued another unit. A $1,000.00 insurance fee will be assessed to the student's account automatically. After the report from the Public Safety Investigation is reviewed, that fee may be reduced to $100.00 if the finding is that the student was not negligent.
