We have several exciting new innovations that are presently available or are on the immediate horizon this academic year. These initiatives will enhance your financial assistance experience and enable us to process your data quickly and efficiently.
The first innovation is SHUawards. For those of you who are not aware, we have an exciting web-based application that allows you to view and manage your financial assistance information at any place and any time.
You can now access the following online:
- Check the status of your application
- View a list of documents we've received and a list of documents still outstanding
- View your financial aid awards
- Accept or decline your awards online
- Check the status of your student loans for the current year
View your student loan history
To access this new application, simply go to shuawards.sacredheart.edu. You will need to logon using your 7 digit Student ID# and a PIN. If you do not have your PIN click on “Receive PIN by email” and it will be emailed to your Sacred Heart email account. Please be aware the PIN is case sensitive. The second enhancement is our new online application that will replace the old paper Upper-Class Confidential Information Form. You can simply log onto your SHUawards account, click on the “apply online” tab and complete the short list of questions. When you click apply, your information will update your financial aid file automatically! We are scheduled to launch this new online application in a few short weeks. We will send you a follow-up email and let you know when it is available.
Our third exciting innovation is that beginning with the 2008-09 academic we will begin imaging all documents that are submitted to our office internally. This will provide a more secure environment for these sensitive documents and will eliminate lost documents. All these changes will improve the overall efficiency of the SHU Financial Aid Office, and will result in improved service for you and your family.
