IS GRADUATE SCHOOL IN YOUR FUTURE?

Sacred Heart University’s Graduate Programs are ranked among the best in the region, and our graduate students are eligible for significant financial assistance!

If you’re nearing completion of your undergraduate studies at SHU, consider staying another year or more to earn a prestigious and valuable graduate degree from one of the best universities in the Northeast!

The Graduate Admissions Office in Curtis Hall is the place to talk with one of our expert counselors about the many opportunities available through our Master’s and Doctorate programs.  As long as you intend to study at least half time – that is 6 credits or more in any given semester for which you need financial assistance, there are plentiful options for financing your graduate education.

All you need to do is complete the FAFSA online at www.fafsa.ed.gov, as well as a Graduate Student Financial Assistance Confidential Information form, being very specific as to how many credits you intend take in each semester of the academic year (July 1 – June 30).

Download the form, or you can stop by the Office of Student Financial Assistance, also in Curtis Hall, and speak with Linda Kirby (371-7983 or kirbyL@sacredheart.edu ).  It’s as simple as that!

It is suggested that you try to complete these two forms at least 3 months before you intend to enroll, but we can certainly accommodate students who decide at the last minute to start graduate school.  Optimally, April 15 (tax deadline day) is a great time to complete your forms for the upcoming year, and it’s an easy day to remember.  Just use the plan of study you worked out with your advisor upon acceptance to calculate the number of credits you will take in the upcoming year, and you’re on your way!
