Foreign Language students may be inducted into Phi Sigma Iota, The International Foreign Language Honor Society.  Eligible students are juniors or seniors who have maintained a 3.0 grade point average in their language courses and overall, and who have studied the foreign language to the advanced level. 

Induction into Phi Sigma Iota is an academic honor that attests to the student’s advanced linguistic capabilities and strong performance in coursework.  The society provides opportunities for scholarships and study abroad.  Phi Sigma Iota also publishes a newsletter with information about honor society events.  Sacred Heart University inducts students into the honor society every two years.  The next induction ceremony will take place in Spring 2009.
