UNIVERSITY COLLEGE, FALL 2007

AHEAD Classes Term 2 Fall 2007
and Winter Intersession Classes

Now is the time to review your plan of study and register for classes starting October 31 in AHEAD Term 2.  Logging on to WEB ADVISOR will make registering for classes efficient and time saving.  Please contact your academic advisor with questions. Undeclared students and General Studies majors should contact University College advisors with questions.

University College advisors are available to assist students in course selection, credit evaluation, and the admission process. If you have any questions about going back to school on a part-time basis, University College is the place to start. Be sure to ask about our Financial Aid Scholarship Resource guide that contains information for students on scholarship opportunities.

Thinking about getting ahead over the holidays? Look over the Winter Intersession offerings.

Online Classes

Students who are taking their first online course at the University are encouraged to take the "Introduction to Online Learning Course".  This is a self-paced, zero credit offering that takes about three hours to complete.  For more information, contact the Digital Learning Support Line  at 203-365-7613 or visit our online learning website.

Why Should You Take Courses Online?

Convenience: You will have more flexibility over when and where work is done.  You will learn technology by using technology.  You will be able to pursue ideas in an independent manner.

Collaboration: You will interact with other students and create a community of learners. You will participate in provocative online discussions held in a group format. Since there are no location constraints, you will be able to work with colleagues from many locations.

Self-Pacing: You will be able to guide your own learning, since online courses offer a student-centered structure with the faculty member acting as a facilitator.
