JANE CARLIN, M.A.
Instructor of Speech Communication
Jane Carlin joined the Sacred Heart faculty full time in 2004, having previously served as an adjunct professor since 1999.
Prior to joining the Sacred Heart faculty, Jane taught French and Spanish and directed the alternative high school program at Greenwich High School. Jane’s undergraduate degree in French was earned at Southern Connecticut State University.
Her graduate study was conducted at Teachers College, Columbia University, where she earned an M.A. in Speech Communication.
Jane participates as a tutor and instructor in the Hispanic Achievers Program of Sacred Heart University, and also serves as a faculty mentor of SHU’s Women’s Basketball Team. She serves on the Faculty Athletic Committee, advises Zeta Iota Lambda and, as a member of the freshman advising staff, chairs the advising committee.
In 2003, Jane was awarded the Outstanding Faculty Award by Sacred Heart University at the annual Campus Life Leadership Awards.
In her “other life,” Jane is president of the board of the Domestic Violence Crisis Center, serves on the board of Project Return, a group home for teenage girls, and, with her husband Ben, is an avid runner.
