MICHELLE LORIS, PH.D., PSY.D.
Michelle Loris, Professor and Associate Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, holds a doctorate in American Literature from Fordham University. She has published a book on Joan Didion, co-edited a book on Gloria Naylor, and published essays on Joan Didion, Toni Morrison, Saul Bellow, Willa Cather, and on teaching the novel. She also holds a doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Antioch/New England Graduate School of Professional Psychology. In psychology, Dr. Loris has published articles on Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, her area of expertise. Dr. Loris teaches 19th and 20th Century American Fiction, Women’s Studies, the Common Core English course Literary Expressions of the Human Journey, Clinical Psychology, Abnormal Psychology, and the Common Core Psychology course The Human Community: The Individual and Society. She is the Faculty Advisor for Sigma Tau Delta, the student International English Honor Society, and one of the Faculty Football Mentors.
