JEFFREY CAIN, PH.D.
Jeffrey P. Cain, Ph.D., Associate Professor of English, received his Ph.D. from the University of Connecticut in 1999 and joined the SHU faculty in the same year.  Dr. Cain is Director of the Communications Across the Curriculum (CxC) program, which supports instructors outside the English Department who seek to improve their students' writing and speaking skills.  Dr. Cain teaches composition classes at both the introductory and advanced levels.  His other courses include History and Structure of the English Language and Theories of Communication.   Dr. Cain's research interests include post-structuralist literary theory and cultural studies, and he has published articles and presented several conference papers focusing on the work of noted French theorist Gilles Deleuze.  He is a past president and present member of the executive board of the Northeast Popular Culture Association (NEPCA), and he currently serves on the executive board of the the National Popular Culture / American Culture Association (PCA/ACA).
