Job Qualifications: Acceptance into a SHU Graduate program.
Job Description:The Graduate Assistants (GA) works along with the Council of Graduate Students and supports them with their administrative duties and day-to-day functions as an organization. The GAs attend weekly meetings with the Council, plans and organizes events throughout the year, helps make decisions regarding funding for other graduate programs to benefit graduate students, publishes a Semester newsletter, and tracks the COGS budget.
Specific details of the job include:
• Taking minutes at weekly meetings
• Emailing meeting minutes and other reminders to council members
• Reserving facilities on campus for various events (Meetings, Dinner Nights) through Student Union
• Ordering catering services through FLIK for various on campus events
• Tracking the COGS budget and processing appropriate paperwork
• Attending various Council events throughout the year
• Organizing and planning an end of year dinner dance
• Publishing a newsletter each semester
• Maintaining updates on Website and Blackboard account.
• Assisting the Council in any other tasks as needed
Employment Period: August 25, 2008-May 15 ,2009*______
*Renewal for the Spring 09 semester based on satisfactory performance during the Fall 08 semester
Compensation package:
Stipend: $___5,000__(approx 10 hrs/week X 15 wks for 2 semesters)
Health Insurance: $ 353.00
