On Thursday, May 24th at 7:00 p.m., the Bridgeport Public Schools Fine & Performing Arts Department will present its 26th annual All-District concert at the Klein Memorial Auditorium.
The program, “Reflections of Bridgeport,” will feature performances by the All-City Choir, Jazz Ensemble, and Band. Keith Johnston, Sacred Heart University’s director of Pioneer Bands will be the guest conductor for the band, conducting works by David Holsinger, Richard Saucedo, and Karl King.
“This week the kids have been in rehearsal, and it was wonderful to be a part of the shear joy that younger players bring to making music,” said Johnston. “The music program in the City of Bridgeport Schools seems to be perpetually endangered from budget and staff cuts, yet these students still exhibit a great deal of passion and enthusiasm for their work.”
The Klein Memorial Auditorium is located at 910 Fairfield Avenue in Bridgeport. The concert is free and open to the public.
