To prepare our students for the world of work the Career Development Center is always looking for ways to connect with and support SHU faculty.
Continuing a long standing tradition of Career Development excellence at SHU we believe that at the core of students' successful career development are: awareness of available resources, self-knowledge, knowledge of careers and occupations, development of job search skills, opportunities for experiential education and access to career-related opportunities.
We invite you to review our programs and ask that you share this information with students, helping them to see the value of an early and continuing connection with their Career Development Center.
Co-Sponsoring Events ~ If you would like the Career Development Center to co-sponsor an upcoming program or event with your department, please contact a member of our staff to share your ideas.
November is National Career Development Month! ~ Our Career Development staff will be available during the month of November for undergraduate class presentations on major and career-related topics. Topics include:
-Orientation to Services and an introduction to the self-assessment process
-Resume Writing and Cover letters
-Interviewing Techniques and Job Search Strategies
-Customized Session for Specific Majors
Requests are taken on a first come first serve basis. To schedule a presentation for your students, please contact the Executive Director of Career Development at least one week in advance to make arrangements.
