Position Responsibilities:
Fill position as Chair of the Safety Committee; develop and implement department Safety program; extend to full campus through regular safety inspections in various locations; generate reports to responsible parties; develop program for campus-wide safety awareness. Develop staff job descriptions; department policies and procedures. Initiate improved communications with campus community, student body and student organizations. Develop and manage campus recycling program.

Daily Tasks:
Maintain the Operations Safety program; schedule campus area safety inspections; compile reports and distribute for corrective action; assign topics and schedule monthly staff safety training; maintain attendance record and plan follow-up training as needed. Monitor all work-related injury reports; analyze all incidents and retrain or change procedures as needed. Provide training for new employees in safety issues; assure safety awareness; explain department policies and procedures. Write, update and maintain all departmental policies and safety practices. Develop job descriptions for all Operations staff positions – maintain and update as needed. Develop a department specific program for New Employee Orientation as well as a department manual for Standard Operating Procedures (“SOP”). Develop effective Campus Recycling Program through wade involvement of faculty, staff and student body; initiate a regular recycling newsletter.

Perform all other duties assigned by the Director of Campus Operations.
