Wendy Bjerke received her undergraduate degree in Exercise Physiology at the University of California and her graduate degree in Exercise Science at Southern Connecticut State University. She has worked in the fields of cardiac, pulmonary, and orthopedic rehabilitation since 1993.
Wendy teaches two courses at Sacred Heart University -- Exercise Physiology and Clinical Exercise Science. She also directs the Sacred Heart University Wellness Program, which provides health assessment and programming to the community.
Wendy is affiliated with the North Eastern College of Sports Medicine, the American College of Sports Medicine, and the American Association of Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation. She is also on the Connecticut Sports Committee's Health and Fitness Board. Her research interests include cardiovascular risk factor intervention strategies and urban/suburban planning to promote health and physical activity.
