| Students celebrating Occupational Therapy Day at the Today Show |
Looking for the graduate program that is the perfect fit for you can be a daunting process. I received your name from the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) as someone interested in receiving information about an entry-level master's degree program in
Occupational Therapy.
I would like to assist you in the process by pointing out some of the unique qualities of Sacred Heart University, located in suburban Fairfield, Connecticut.
Some things to remember about our program:
- Sacred Heart University was the first entry-level graduate OT program in Connecticut.
- Our Problem-Based Learning (PBL) teaching/learning format enables students to solve clinical problems through self-directed, peer group study, research and discussion. Most medical schools use this format, and employers tell us that our students are able to hit the ground running given the strong foundation and practice.
- The curriculum incorporates clinical fieldwork and community-based practice.
- We pride ourselves in our small cohort groups, the attention that faculty members are able to give each student and that faculty regard their students as future colleagues.
We seek to enroll students who have both strong academic abilities from their undergraduate studies and strong interpersonal skills to successfully work within the problem-based learning environment.
Call me at 203-396-8259 to find out more about our program. We are now taking applications for Fall 2008. I look forward to working with you through the application process and welcoming you to our graduate community.
Sincerely,
Kathy Dilks
