Sacred Heart University offers students the option of having a pre-paid SHUCard campus debit account associated with their Sacred Heart University SHUCard ID Card. Not only is the card used to access residence halls, meal plans and library services, it can also be used to make purchases around campus when money is deposited into the debit account. Because the account is pre-paid you don't have to worry about credit card interest rates or charges or the possibility of overdrawing the account. There are no fees for the SHUCard account and account balances will decline with each purchase a cardholder makes. The SHUCard debit account can be used year-round and balances will carry over from year-to-year and are protected if reported lost or stolen.

Money deposited onto the SHUCard card is not available for cash withdrawals and can only be spent at approved participating locations on and off campus. Students may use the funds on their card to make purchases from on-campus food services/dining locations, the Sacred Heart University Bookstore, self-service copy machines, beverage and snack vending machines, laundry machines and participating area merchants. 

Adding Money
You can add money to your student's SHUCard account any time and in any amount. The quickest way to add money is through our website or visiting our PHIL (Payment Headquarters in Location) located outside the Student Union Office. 

Not Available for Cash Withdrawal
Students are not able to withdraw cash from their SHUCard account.  The SHUCard funds can only be used at approved vendors and on-campus locations. Also, SHUCard may not be used to purchase alcohol or tobacco products.
