SOCIAL NETWORKING WEBSITES REACH OUT TO TEENS
In the Noel-Levitz report E-Expectations: The Class of 2007, upcoming college freshmen were labeled "The Social-Networking Generation."  (Click here to view the full report.) A similar report, Pew Internet Research Project Data Memo (Jan. 2007), cites 55% of online teens have created a personal profile online, 55% have used social networking sites like MySpace or Facebook, and 48% of teens visit social networking websites daily or more often. (Click here to view the full report.)

With these latest statistics, it would be safe to say that Higher Education Institutions should be paying closer attention to social networking websites and considering them as the new marketing venue.  To learn the "5 Basic Rules of Engagement", see Collegewebeditor's article "5 Rules to Market Your University to Prospective Students Using Facebook, MySpace and Other Social Networking Websites."
