SACRED HEART UNIVERSITY CHOSEN FOR INCLUSION IN THE PRINCETON REVIEW COLLEGE GUIDE, “THE BEST 366 COLLEGES: 2008 EDITION”
Record number of 7,300 applicants vies for 950 spots in Class of 2011
FAIRFIELD, Conn.—Sacred Heart University (SHU) is one of the nation’s best institutions for undergraduate education, according to The Princeton Review. The New York-based company known for its test-prep courses, books and other education services has selected SHU for inclusion in the forthcoming edition of its popular annual “best colleges” guidebook. Titled The Best 366 Colleges: 2008 Edition (Random House/Princeton Review Books, $21.95 paperback), the guide will be available in bookstores in late August 2007.
SHU President Anthony J. Cernera, Ph.D., commented, “This is a ringing affirmation of the work of the University in preparing our students to be leaders in the challenging world around us. It caps a year of historic achievements. These include the naming of our College of Business for the legendary corporate leader, John F. Welch, the recent accreditation of that College by the AACSB – an honor accorded to fewer than 10 percent of business schools worldwide – and the groundbreaking for our beautiful new campus Chapel. The University’s Division I athletic teams have earned impressive victories, and so far this year, we have more than 7,300 applications for a freshman class of 950. Clearly, our best days lie ahead.”

This year, SHU received a record number of applications for its incoming freshman class. More than 7,300 applications have been received for the 950 member Class of 2011.
