Lenore Frost, PhD, OTR/L, CHT, Academic Fieldwork Coordinator and Clinical Assistant Professor
Dr. Frost received her B.S. in Occupational Therapy from Quinnipiac University in Hamden, CT. She recently received her PhD in Health Services at Walden University, School of Health Sciences, Minneapolis, MN. Her dissertation is titled Patient Handling Methods in Occupational Therapy Curriculum.
Initially certified as an occupational therapist in 1980, Dr. Frost has practiced in inpatient and outpatient settings, specializing in upper quadrant disorders. She received hand therapy certification in 1991. She is the Academic Fieldwork Coordinator and teaches the adult content of the occupational therapy curriculum at Sacred Heart University. In addition to teaching full-time, Lenore owns and continues to practice at Hand Therapy Associates, PC in New Haven, CT.
Lenore’s research interest is Safe Patient Handling and Movement as it relates to the health and safety of students and therapists. She has presented Safe Patient Handling and Movement workshops to state and national level associations in an effort to change practice and protect therapists from injury.
Lenore Frost is the current Treasurer of the Connecticut Occupational Therapy Association and serves as the Coordinator of the Hand Subsection, Physical Disability Special Interest Section for the American Occupational Therapy Association.
