I hope you are enjoying your summer and are as excited as we are about your joining of the Sacred Heart University community.  The Student Affairs staff is gearing up for Welcome Week which is scheduled to begin on the first weekend in September.

I thought it would be helpful to you if I outlined the schedule of events for Welcome Week so that you can plan in advance for your arrival on campus.  That schedule lists all the events offered during the week.  Most importantly, the schedule highlights all the mandatory sessions for students.  Also, please refer to the New Student Orientation Checklist to make sure you are prepared for Welcome Days and your first day of classes!

For resident students, please be advised that your room/roommate assignment and for first year students your move-in time for Sunday, September 4th and for transfer students your move-in time for Monday, September 5th will be sent in a separate mailing that will soon follow.  All questions about Residential Life can be directed to Joel Quintong, Director of Residential Life and Housing Services, at (203) 416-3417.

For commuter students, please be aware that you need to obtain a student ID card, if you have not done so already, from the Student Union.  For first year students we would like you to join us for Mass at 3:30pm in the Pitt Center on Sunday September 4th.  Your first mandatory session begins at 7pm in the Schine Auditorium.  All questions about Commuter Life can be directed to the Amy Ricci at (203) 371-7969

For transfer students, please be aware that you are scheduled to move in on Monday, September 5th from 10am-4pm, with specific times being mailed to you along with your room assignment from the Office of Residential Life. Please see the schedule of events for transfer students, so that you can prepare for move-in and the events during the week.

Please note that classes begin on Tuesday, September 6th, 2011.
