DR. RICHARD WEIDLICH
Richard Weidlich (BA, MM, DMA), baritone, has sung many leading roles in opera and operetta, including Figaro in Il Barbiere di Siviglia, Count Almaviva in Le Nozze di Figaro, Mercutio in Roméo et Juliette, Danilo in The Merry Widow, Schaunard in La Bohème, Pacquillo in La Perichole, the title role in Don Giovanni, as well as Fléville in Andrea Chénier and Sonora in La Fanciulla del West, with such companies as Arizona Opera, Portland Opera, and the University of Arizona Opera Theatre. Other credits include Matt in The Fantasticks, Antipholus of Syracuse in The Boys from Syracuse, and KoKo in The Mikado. Orchestral appearances include the St. Louis Symphony, Buffalo Philharmonic, Seattle Symphony, Oregon Symphony, and the Tucson Symphony, as well as many summer music festivals, in both classical and Broadway repertoire. 

In addition to performing, Dr. Weidlich serves as the Vice President of the Connecticut chapter of NATS, and recently appeared on two recitals for the NATS Workshop on New Music in Miami. Dr. Weidlich has also taught Voice and Opera Workshop at the University of Arizona, Tucson; Portland State University, Oregon; and Oregon State University. Dr. Weidlich was one of twelve participants selected for the NATS 2003 Internship Program held in Fredonia, New York.

Recent engagements include: The True Story of Cinderella in Greenwich, Connecticut; Rodgers and Hammerstein's Cinderella in New Canaan, Connecticut; The Messiah in Lake Charles, Louisiana; Aspects of Love at The Player's Club, New York City; and Rejoice in the Lamb in Westport, Connecticut. Upcoming engagements include the Count in The Marriage of Figaro, New York City.
