Located at the southwest corner of the Quad, the new Chapel will be a key visual and spiritual beacon on campus. The structure itself will be organized as three elements intertwined with a series of outdoor spaces.
The Bell Tower, located at the end of the Quad, will serve as an identifying icon for the University and a central beacon in the campus landscape.
The Main Chapel will define the southern edge of the Quad and will be a welcoming presence, inviting entrance to the main sanctuary. From within, the use of warm colors, the soothing presence of natural light and the connection to gardens at either end will create an uplifting and serene atmosphere.
The Chapel plaza at the main entrance will be directly accessible from the Quad and will allow for outdoor gathering before and after Mass and other events. Surrounded by a meditative Chapel Grove, the Chapel of the Blessed Sacrament (also referred to as the “daily Chapel”) will provide an ideal setting for daily Mass and personal contemplation.
A quiet place for reflection in the midst of the daily activities of student life, this small Chapel will maintain a connection to the Main Chapel, the community and the natural environment.
With more than 14,000 square feet of indoor space and outdoor features, the Chapel will provide a wonderful setting for daily and weekly worship for our growing community.
