Developing the Whole Person
Sacred Heart University aspires to be one of the great Catholic universities in the U.S. Today, nearly six thousand men
and women entrust their dreams of a top-quality education to us. Together with their professors and our community, they prepare for a future that’s at the same time exciting and difficult to imagine.
Pope John Paul II wrote in Ex Corde Ecclesiae (1990), “A Catholic university is distinguished by its free search for truth about nature, man and God.” As a university founded in and sustained by faith, we believe that education must engage the intellectual, moral and spiritual development of the whole person.
This University has benefited from the prayerful support of our many friends. Our new Chapel will play a critical role in strengthening the spiritual heart of our campus, supporting our vision for the future of Sacred Heart. It’s a future where a rich intellectual and academic life is interwoven with a palpable and exciting spiritual commitment. I invite you to learn more about the Chapel and our vision for the future of the University in the following pages. I ask also for your generous support of gifts, time and resources to make this wonderful Chapel a reality and blessing for us all in the years to come.
