Dear Senior Class 17 September 2009
Did I really just write that? It is so hard to believe we are about to begin our senior year here at SHU. I remember freshmen year like it was yesterday and I’m sure you all feel the same – where have the past three years gone? As we look to the future and what the next few months hold for us, I want to encourage us all, as a Senior Class, to come together and celebrate what we’ve accomplished throughout our time here and what we will do with the experiences we have had at Sacred Heart. We have a lot to look forward to and a lot of great resources to tap into during this exciting time and I really want every senior to take advantage of them. Get in contact with your Career Development staff member and get your resume approved. Utilize all of the resources for job and internship searches and really get yourselves out there! In addition to working hard, I also want to personally encourage every senior to attend our first Senior Pub Night on October 7th! These next few months are going to be ones to remember, and as we look forward to graduating I want to remind everyone about the outstanding Alumni Association that we have on campus, and the role that we hope that every senior will play as active Alumni in the years to come. Look for emails from the Senior Class Board with updates about events, and get excited for Senior Week – we’ve already started planning and its going to be great! Seeing everyone around these past few days have been great and I look forward to seeing all of you soon. Please let me know if you have any questions, and, as always, the Student Government office door is always open for you guys and your questions and or concerns, or just to stop by and say hi!
All the best,
Katie Higgins
President, Class of 2010
