PATRICIA AQUILA KLAUSER was appointed Sacred Heart University's Executive Director of Career Development on July 1, 2006. Trish has 16 years of higher education experience, serving SHU traditional and non-traditional students in a variety of roles since 1989. She worked for nine years in academic advisement and employer outreach through the University's Continuing Education program, and the past seven years as a career counselor in the SHU Office of Career Development.
Most recently as Senior Director of Career Counseling, Trish designed and implemented the Major in Success program, a structured affirming process of learning and self-discovery to help first and second year students who are unsure of their goals and often unsure of themselves.
A former early childhood educator, middle school physical education teacher and an employee of Educational Counseling Associates in Westport, Connecticut Trish completed her MS degree in Community Counseling at Southern Connecticut State University in 1999. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor, with National Certified Counselor standing. Professional interests and specialties include: educational and career counseling, career development/spirituality, building self-esteem, and stress management.
