KATHLEEN S. FRIES
Kathleen S. Fries, Phd, MSN, RN, Assistant Professor, Sacred Heart University Nursing Program. Kathy received her PhD in nursing at the University of Connecticut. She received an MSN from Sacred Heart University, and a BSN from Seton Hall University. She is also a Certified Child Birth Educator. Professor Fries' expertise and scholarly interests surround women's health issues. Her dessertation topic "African American Women and the Experience of the unplanned cesarean section: A phenomenological Study" focused on women's experiences surrounding unplanned cesarean delivery from the prospective of black women. In May 2007, she received the Graduate Nurse Researcher Award from the UCONN chapter of Sigma Theta Tau.Quote: “Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss, you'll land among the stars.” – Les Brown
