The Nursing faculty are committed to creating a learning environment that recognizes and builds upon previous student achievements, while introducing information that will enhance professional growth and success in contemporary topics such as nursing research and evidence-based practice, quality and outcomes assessment, managing care across the continuum (including community and home health), and evolving ethical issues. The Nursing faculty is comprised of highly experienced professionals recognized as experts among their peers, representing the major clinical specialties within nursing. The full-time faculty works closely with selectively recruited adjunct faculties, who provide special skills and focus areas. The Nursing faculty has developed a strong network of committed adjunct faculty and educational preceptors who share generously of their time and expertise with students and the programs. The Nursing faculty is committed to working collaboratively with colleagues in practice to positively influence future nurses and those continuing their education, along with contributing ideas to enhance practice settings. Most faculty are actively engaged in clinical practice through direct care and/or consulting activities at such sites as community health centers, departments of public health, and acute care hospitals, among others.
