FACILITIES
The Department of Media Studies and Digital Culture's facilities include a studio for beginning and advanced television production courses and a state-of-the-art Medialab equipped with DVD authoring and multimedia production workstations.
Students learn from faculty with many years of experience in the film, broadcasting, and communications industries, and have the opportunity to work in all areas of studio and field production from screenwriting, newswriting, and lighting and design, to TV, Web, radio, video, film, photography, multimedia, advertising, public relations, and journalism production. Our large inventory of digital production equipment ensures that students have access to the tools and software they need for their projects when they need it. MSDC students also provide content for the campus TV station and the University newspaper, and benefit from our relationship with NPR affiliate WSHU, which broadcasts from the SHU campus.
In addition to visiting us at SHU's Open Houses and Pioneer Days, we invite prospective students to tour our department and its facilities, or to meet with one of our faculty members.
