The Department of Communication and Media Studies offers two majors: Communication and Technology Studies (CT) and Media Studies (MS).

While CT majors focus on Internet-based media and technological approaches to multimedia production, MS majors examine a blend of more traditional media, such as television, radio, print and film/video production. As the media industry and communication environment continues to evolve and change, new courses are added to both the CT and MS majors to ensure that students have a contemporary perspective and the relevant knowledge and skills to succeed and thrive in the work force. Toward that goal, CMS blends theory and practice throughout all of its MS and CT courses.
